Honolulu Harbor Located on Mamala Bay, Honolulu Harbor is Hawaii's primary port facility, handling over 11 million tons of cargo each year. The harbor is referred to as "the harbor of Kou" by Hawaiians and was first used by Westerners in 1794. Originally named 'Fair Haven', it was later translated into Hawaiian as 'Honolulu'.
