Royal Mausoleum The Royal Mausoleum, also known as Mauna 'Ala, is considered to be the most sacred burial ground in Oahu. This is a three-acre site that serves as the resting place for royalty such as King Kamehameha II through V, King Kalakaua, and Queen Liliuokalani. National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific Situated in the middle of Puowaina Crater, the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific or "Punchbowl" opened in 1949 to the fourth anniversary of V-J Day.
